π― Skill Lane
Solid Intermediate β Under 3.7 (DUPR lingo)
In DUPR terms, youβd likely land somewhere between a 3.2 and a 3.6.
That said, we all know both DUPR and Village ratings are a bit flawed, so we care far more about how you play than chasing a rigid number.
This is Solid Intermediate play. You use a variety of shots, strategy, and smarts to win games β even though the occasional silly error sneaks in (hello balls straight into the net or sailing long).
β FAQs
π What Youβre Playing For
Top teams from each League location will earn Golden Tickets to our
PickleballChicks Battle for the Regional Crown happening early March. Registration will be required.
π What's the League Format
Queen of the Court
Teams pull a number at the start of each session
Pull 1 β start on Court 1
Pull 6 β start on Court 6
Court 6 is the Crown Court π β thatβs where youβre aiming to land at the end of the session!
How it works:
Win your game β move up a court
Lose your game β move down a court
Earn your way to the Crown Court and keep winning β donβt get knocked off!
π― Scoring & Game Flow
Regular scoring to 11, win by 2
Maximum game time: 12 minutes
Rest / recovery time: 4 minutes between games
Please be aware that this League is almost two hours of non-stop play. Players need to be able to safely play for this length of time.
π How Weekly Scoring Works
Take the court number of your last game
+1 if you win your last game
-1 if you lose your last game
You receive one score per week.
Scores are added up after 4 weeks, and a winning team will be announced.
Most common questions:
I played in the January League β can I play again in February?
Yes! We love frequent flyers βοΈ
Can I play in more than one League location at the same time?
No, sorry. You can only play in one League location per session.
Example: If youβre registered for the Saddlebrook League on Wednesdays, you cannot also play in the Clarendon League on Mondays.
Do you do a skill-fit check after the first week?
Yes. After Week 1, Court Captains do a skill-fit check. Teams deemed to be playing above the League level will be removed from the roster with a friendly
βhey, youβre too good for us Chicks!β message.
What if my partner or I canβt make a week?
Life happens. You may substitute one player on your team with a sub of your choice β just make sure sheβs at the proper level.
π You must arrange your own sub. We are not keeping a list of subs, although you can always check our Partner Search Sheet if you start running low on options.
Youβll find it here: https://pickleballchicks.org/blog/partner-search
What if we change our minds and withdraw before the League starts?
No refunds, sorry.
Can a team be removed from the roster before the League starts?
Yes. Court Captains review the list of registered teams and may remove teams deemed too strong. We are serious about keeping this an Under 3.7 League β our goal is well-matched, fun, friendly, competitive matches.
How is the League run each week?
Each League has Court Captains assigned. Their job is to:
- Greet you and get things rolling
- Have teams pick their starting court number out of a hat before games begin
- Do a quick Vibe Check
- Keep games moving
Court Captains play right alongside you throughout the session. At the end of the games each week, they record your score on the scoresheet.
Important note:
Decisions about League play β including teams that are too strong for the League or correcting bad addies (bad attitudes π¬) β are made at the Court Captain level.
