Hey Chicks, there’s a new game in town.
PickleballChicks is an established “chicks-only” event host in Florida and for the first time ever, they’re hitting the courts north of the border.
Saturday June 22nd, the chicks are coming to the impressive indoor pickleball facility at the Four Fathers Pickleball Society in Cambridge, Ontario. They’ll be hosting their first Queens of the Court tournament in Canada. (Registration Link
Teams of chicks will compete in a Round Robin with a guarantee of 5 to 6 games. The goal? To win one of their crazy and coveted PickleballChick crowns.
PickleballChicks founder and Head Chick, Sharon Ricci said, “If you’re looking for a tourney where you play at the top of your game and feel confident and comfortable…you’re our kind of chick and I hope to see you on the courts on the 22nd.”
PickleballChick events started in The Villages, Florida where they quickly became a staple in an area known to be a mecca of the game.
Just like in Florida, the events will start small.
Sharon estimates the first tournament will begin as a 6 team Round Robin but will grow to a 12 team event over the first few months.
“When we launched in Florida we had 3 courts. Within a month we were booking 12 courts a week and had a wait list. I started PickleballChicks for chicks like me. I love the game and wanted a place to compete that didn’t make me want to run to the car to cry, and that’s exactly what I’ve created. I couldn’t be more proud.”
